Yahoo messenger sometimes blocked by the Windows Firewall facilities. If this happens then you can not use Yahoo Messenger, the procedure to activate the Yahoo Messenger is as follows:
1. Right-click icon "Network Connection" Selah right in the taskbar, select "Change Windows firewall settings"

2. In the Windows Firewall dialog box, select the Exception tab and check the Yahoo Messenger. Click OK
